RULES & REGULATIONS
Every school has their own rules and regulation that is needed to be done by every student inside the school. Also, teachers and other authority must do their policy assigned to them. Here's the policy that students must obey and do:

All students of Cavite National Science High School. Regardless of status are governed by the following rules and regulations of the school and that any infraction thereof is subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the DECS Service Manual Department Order and Memorandum.
I. SCHOOL UNIFORM & PERSONALITY
1.1 No student will be allowed to enter the school premises unless they are in their proper and complete uniform.

A. Uniform for academic classes - to be worn from Monday to Thursday and as prescribed.
1. FOR MALE STUDENTS:
a. White polo (suggested-tetoron) with standing sports collar and a left breast pocket with the school seal.
b. Dark brown slacks
c. Black leather shoes (nubuck is not allowed) and white socks
2. FOR FEMALE STUDENTS:
a. Long sleeved white blouse (suggested--tetoron) with the following descriptions:

Baby collar
-
2 inches paja
-
Left breast pocket with the school seal
-
Ribbons/ tie (material is the same as the skirt)
b. Checked brown skirt [2 inches below the knee]
c. Black school shoes and white socks.
B. Scouting Uniform- to be worn on Fridays official scouting uniform as prescribed by the school and allowed by the council.
C. PE Uniform - to be worn during their PE time only unless prescribed otherwise.
a. Blue and white t-shirt with school seal
b. Blue jogging pants with white strip printed with “RSHS”
c. Plain white rubber shoes and white socks
D. Working clothes - to be worn when prescribed Maong pants and a plain white t-shirt or official school t-shirt.
E. Official school identification ID card
1. ID is a part of the school uniform such that no student will be allowed to enter the school premises without it.
2. The use of tampered ID is not allowed. Tampered or lost ID is to be replaced at the student’s own expense subject to the following conditions:

A student is allowed just one ID replacement in a school year.

The processing of new ID is to be done after a letter of request is duly attested by the parent and noted by the class and chief advisers are submitted to the guidance office and are forwarded to the principal’s office.
-
A temporary admission slip is to be issued by the guidance counselor to enable the student to be admitted to the school premises and to the class, while the new ID is being processed.
F. HAIRCUT:
1. The acceptable haircut for the male students is at least one(1) inch above the ear and three(3) inches above the collar line.
2. Male students who are not in proper haircut will not be allowed to enter the school compound/premises.

1.2. All student are required to observe proper personal sanitation/hygiene and be in their most presentable personality always.

1.3. The following are considered infractions/violations of the uniform and personality rules and are therefore subject to disciplinary measures:
a. Dyeing of hair and use of spray net
b. Bald or semi-bald haircut
c. Wearing of earrings by male and anklets by both male and female
d. Tattoo in any part of the body
e. Body piercing
II. ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY
2.1 Regularity of Attendance

All students are required to attend classes regularly.
-
Students who cannot attend classes for unavoidable and valid response has to send an excuse letter or explanation duly signed by the parent or authorized guardian.

A student shall submit a valid medical certificate on the following situations in order to be excused:
a. Three (3) consecutive absences b. Absence(s) during periodic test
-
Skipping class/classes without valid reason attested by the class adviser or subject teacher is considered cutting classes. Cutting classes is strictly not allowed.
-
Absence from classes due to unavoidable participation in religious activities shall be considered as excused absence provided however that permission of the school head is sought prior to the activity.

A student who incurs absences more than twenty percent of the prescribed number of class or laboratory periods during the school year or term should be given a failing grade and given no credit for the course or subject. Furthermore, the school head at her discretion and in the individual case exempt a student who exceeds the twenty percent limit for reasons considered valid and acceptable to the school but such discretion shall not excuse the student concerned from responsibility in keeping up with lesson assignment and taking examinations where indicated. The discretionary authority is vested in the school head, and may not be availed of by a student nor granted by a faculty member without the consent of the school head.
2.2 Punctuality

Punctuality is required in all classes and in attendance to all the school activities including the Flag Raising/ Lowering Ceremony. Whereas, the following schedule shall be strictly followed: - 6:00 am-6:30 am (assembly time) -6:30 (flag raising)

Latecomers (students who come to school beyond 7:00 am) will not be allowed to enter the school compound. At the same time, the parent of the student is to be informed of the violation.

Three cases of coming late will mean that the parent or authorized guardian of the student concerned has to come to school for a conference with the advisers and or the guidance counselor. Failure to do so the student involved will be advised to stay at home until such time that the conference has been made.

Habitual tardiness especially during the first period in the morning and in the afternoon shall not be allowed. Teachers concerned shall call for the parent of the student concerned or visit him at home.

III. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Subject Requirements
A student has to comply with all the subject requirements on or before the set due date. Failure to do so may mean a zero score.

3.2 Grade Requirement
As per DepEd Order #41 s. 2005, the following grade requirements are to maintained by RSHS students

No grades lower than 80 in any subject at any grading period.
-
A final rating of not lower than 83 in non-major subjects like Filipino, Social Studies, etc. A final grade of lower than 83 but not lower than 80 in such minor subject will mean that the student concerned will be placed under a probationary condition in his/her second or third year as the case may be with the condition that he/she has to meet the required grade within that period.

A final rating of not lower than 85 in major subjects specifically Mathematics, Science, and English. Failure to comply with any one of the said grade requirements means that the student concerned has to transfer to another school in the next school year.
IV. OTHER POLICIES
4.1 Waste disposal - A continuing policy regarding segregation and proper disposal of garbage is being implemented in the school. Student/section/year lever who will implement this policy will be given a grade incentive in Science and in other related subjects.

4.2 Littering - Throwing and ignoring observed garbage is guilty of lettering. Violation thereof is subject to reprimand and is to be dealt with accordingly.

4.3 Loitering - Roaming around the school compound during class hours is prohibited.

4.4 Illegal Posting - Posting of an announcement and/or posters without prior approval from school authorities is not allowed and is subject to reprimand. The announcement/poster will be removed/confiscated.
4.5 Bringing of gadgets like cell phones, laptops, tablets, I-pods and other audio-visual electronic devices like MP3/MP4 and the likes, CD players, cassette players portable video player, guitar, organ and other things not required by any subject teacher is discouraged. Students who will bring any of the said devices without prior arrangement will be reprimanded and the devices will be devices will and deposited at the guidance office for safekeeping until after classes.

4.6 Fraternities/gangs - Organizing recruiting, joining gangs fraternities/sororities, or any unscholarly group and/or participating in their meeting assemblies or any of their activities is strictly prohibited. Any student found guilty of such will be dealt accordingly;
